For the 3rd installment of our employee interviews, we got to question an incredible physical therapist who is relatively new to the team, Charlie Miller. Check out his PPT ‘behind-the-scenes’ interview!

What is your role/position?
CM: Staff physical therapist.

What are your duties within that role/position?
CM: I evaluate patients, create comprehensive Plan of Cares, and treat associated impairments.

What made you decide to come to work for PPT?
CM: I decided to move back to the North East from California and felt immediately welcomed by the staff at Portsmouth Physical Therapy. The patient first mentality that PPT follows helps me provide the best patient care.

What is your favorite thing about working for PPT?
CM: Getting to know the people in this wonderful community, joking with my co-workers, and of course the trail mix!

How would you describe PPT’s clinical philosophy? (Or your own!)
CM: PPT’s clinical philosophy is patient centered, hands on, 1:1 physical therapy with focus on functional outcomes and return to work/sport/life.

How would you describe PPT’s clinical environment?
CM: PPT is  fun clinical environment where we enjoy talking and laughing with patients, trying our best to make everyone feel comfortable as they work through their physical rehabilitation.

With your career, what are you looking to accomplish in the next two to four years?
CM: I hope to progress my clinical skills through continuing education courses to deepen my “clinical toolbox” and build relationships with the local physicians to promote open and active lines of communication in the health care community.

Outside of work, what is something you do for fun? A hobby?
CM: I enjoy getting out and hiking with my dog Lou.

What is one unknown or fun fact about you?
CM: Bill Belichick once slipped me a 5$ bill in a handshake.

Many thanks to Charlie for taking the time to answer and for allowing us to learn a bit more about him. Be sure to stay tuned for our next employee interview!
